Seaside Appalachian Restoration
Paint, wind, and sea water have been the bitter culprits of this sweet little home in Hertford, NC. Over time they took their toll on the engineered logs, especially on the exposed, south-facing wall and the corners. Our team media blasted all the paint off, which exposed the depth of the damage. We then repaired nearly 300 linear feet of rotted log, replaced 40 corner ends, coated with borate and Sashco's water-based system including Capture in Chestnut, and rechinked as necessary using Log Jam. It's truly been given a new lease on life.
Completed and ready to take on the world in a beautiful Sashco Capture stain in Chestnut.
The owners had paint on the home for many years and with the moisture of the seaside air, it took its toll. They were at the end of their rope patching the rot on this wall especially, and called in the experts.
